Okay, this really grinds my gears. "Why the fuck do we pay for school?"
You ONLY hear of this argument from Westernized kids, especially in America and Britain.
Why? Because you guys only begin paying for school when you enter College/University. When you start school at 4, and you finish MANDATORY (Keyword there) education you are then given the opportunity to go to College/University if you are able enough.
“But why do I have to pay for college when I’m just trying to get an education? Why don’t the Government pay for my education? Why do I have to buy books and pay rent and blah blah blah”
You do not know how lucky you or your parents are, I swear to God. My uncle went to school in Ghana, from a young age you have to PAY to go to school, every single year you have to pay a substantial amount for your education, even when you’re as young as 4 years old. Your parents have to pay for you to go and learn the distinction between colours, baring in mind that you are in a Third World Country and money is hard to come by anyway. So when my Uncle finished the equivalent of Primary/Elementary school he got a job to pay for his own education at the age of 12. For the next 14 years (he attended medical school) he would alternate between working 2/3 jobs at a time to pay for his education. He saw it as an investment because now he is making a substantial amount of money, and it paid off.
Now that’s an extreme example I know, none of you are in the same poverty he was.
But you are so fucking pampered that you want everything handed to you.
EVERYONE wants an education, EVERYONE wants to make the best of themselves or at least wanted to at some point in their life.
If we take the situation where the Government paid for your College/University education, do you think that College admissions would be the same? Nah they would have to double the amount of Colleges there are in the country. And who would pay for that? You through taxes duh.
Okay okay, also if everyone gets free College education, when it comes to jobs, competition is going to be extremely high right? Even if you may have a college degree you may have to work in Mc Donalds just to make ends meet, because there were 60 people competing for the career you want, and only 4 places.
Also if everyone gets a College Education, then it lowers the honour and respect that comes with getting that degree. Am I right? Of course i’m right.
Now sit down,
stop complaining
get a job
and earn your damn degrees.
Shit.
